It’s a Hat Trick!
Following on from the success of the groundbreaking development at Silverstone, where SSR Planning successfully obtained detailed planning permission for 46 dwellings on behalf of David Wilson Homes; SSR has again been successful in obtaining planning permissions for two more housing schemes on edge of village sites in South Northamptonshire at Kings Sutton and Nether Heyford.
The development at Silverstone was the first of its kind to be approved and built under the Interim Housing Planning Policy (IHPP), a response to the lack of a 5-year supply of deliverable housing sites in the District. Many similar schemes have been put forward recently but very few given permission.
As with Silverstone, neither of the proposed developments accorded with the Local Plan, but the District Council again accepted that the proposals met the requirements of the IRHP Policy and that the sites were suitable for housing development.
Banner Homes commissioned SSR to provide advice and supporting documentation in respect of an outline planning application for 40 dwellings for their development at Kings Sutton. The other development is for 34 dwellings, again for land beyond the existing village confines at Nether Heyford, where SSR acted on behalf of the landowner. Outline permission for both sites was successfully granted in February 2010.
